Schooners being towed past the Belvedere resort and through the upper channel, destined for points on Pine Lake.

BELVEDERE BAYOU

Rowboats were still in the majority, though power boats were becoming numerous. To protect passengers from sun and rain the launches were covered in imitation of the "surrey with the fringe on top."
