SCHOONERS OF THE EARLY DAYS
The opening of the channel from Lake Michigan brought countless numbers of these hardy two and three-masters into Round Lake Harbor. Sometimes bad weather would force them to run for shelter, for they were not immune to the elements. At these times docking space in Round Lake would be at a premium, even as it is today.
