Air view of the Charlevoix Beach Hotel. The residence on the left was the summer home of a pioneer in the automobile world, Mr. R.E. Olds, manufacturer of the Oldsmobile and the Reo.

SYLVIA & SYLVIA IV

The SYLVIA IV, center right, and the SYLVIA, center distance, at their home docks. For a time both were owned by Mr. Logan Thomson. Mr. R. E. Olds bought the SYLVIA IV, along with the boathouse, which was built especially for the yacht. The government took over both ships for service in World War II.
