LAST OF THE MACKINAWS
Pictured above is the SHOODLE, as far as known the last of the famous old Mackinaw boats still afloat. Stripped down, it is now used by the Chicago Club as a work boat. Rugged and seaworthy, these craft were used mostly by fishermen of the upper Great Lakes during the early and middle part of the nineteenth century.
