BELVEDERE GENERATIONS
Many families have been summer residents of the Belvedere Club for generations. Typical is the Ware family. Mr. E. C. Ware and family came from Chicago on the CHAMPLAIN, disembarkeing on what was then called the outer pier, or north pier, in 1883. Mr. Ware had three sons, Ralph, Walter, and Robert. At the present time, 1969, the fourth generation resorts at the Belvedere Club.
The above picture shows the original cottage of the Ware family, located on the S. W. corner of Pavilion Park. The plank walk in the foreground leads to the windmill, ehich supplied water to the resort. Part of the windmill support shows to the far left. The building in the distance, far left, was the Music Hall, where for several years Sunday services were held.
