Drying sails at the boat yard of Captain Roy Ranger on the south shore of Round Lake after a spell of weather.

THE U. S. WOLVERINE

The U. S. WOLVERINE, anchored in Pine Lake just east of the railroad depot. She was the only U. S. gunboat to patrol the Great lakes. Formerly the U. S. S. MICHIGAN, she was in St. James harbor at the time of the assassination of King Strang, the assassins taking advantage of her presence by using her as a refuge after perpetrating the deed.
